Baccarat Increases Nevada Casino Profits

Las Vegas casinos are posting good results beginning from April 2014 and a lot of it has to do with baccarat tables. It is good news for the Nevada casino industry as the financial crisis that began in 2007 almost derailed the industry.

The baccarat role

BaccaratThe Nevada gaming industry showed improved results after March 2014 and the growth in revenue is mostly positive after that period. It is true that there have been other factors also that have contributed to the revenue growth. Blackjack, slots and craps revenues have jumped and helped the Nevada casinos.

However, baccarat has been largely credited for keeping the casinos in Las Vegas afloat even in the financial downturn period. Baccarat has also kept the positive momentum steady during the financial crisis. In 2012 baccarat became a bigger revenue generator in Las Vegas compared to blackjack, which has been a crowd-puller.

The baccarat factors

Baccarat has always been among the favourites of high rollers. Rich businessmen especially from China have known to bet hundreds and thousands of dollars per hand. No doubt, it is now popular with the casino crowd and tables without high stakes are also found crowded in casinos. However, it is the casino players with their big pockets who helped the revenue growth that came through baccarat.

When the Nevada casino industry was dealing with one of the worst economic times in the history, China was seeing massive growth. The money from baccarat fans flowed into Las Vegas casinos and it kept the industry going even if there was not much revenue increase until 2012.

However, to keep things in perspective, not all casinos are big baccarat draws. The big guns especially on the Las Vegas Strip have managed to stay in business as they attract high rollers from the world over. It is not to say baccarat didn’t work in other Vegas casinos, because it did.

The attraction of baccarat coupled with the glamour of Las Vegas casinos, kept the Nevada casino industry standing when casinos were closing shop all over the US.
