As poker and baccarat are more glamorous these games are usually shown in movies quite often. However, even a complicated game like craps has been shown in several Hollywood productions which show its popularity. Here are a few Hollywood films that have features craps as a major part of the plot.
- Guys and Dolls
This 1955 movie had two famous actors Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando and was set in era of 1940’s when gambling was considered illegal in NYC. In this movie Sinatra was the owner of an illegal craps club and Brandon is there to make high bets and save money to marry his girlfriend. The movie was famous for Luck by a lady song sung by Marlon Brando.
- Diamonds are Forever
This James Bond movie featuring Roger Moore is remembered for the famous craps game where he played for a few minutes during the search for a diamond smuggler where he meets O’Toole at the craps table. He easily falls for her charms as her main objective was to attract high rollers.
- Ocean’s Thirteen
To get even with his enemies, George Clooney takes his gang of friends to the casino to clean it out slowly by cheating at craps games. They try and succeed in replacing the original casino dice with their own doctored ones that had a high propensity to throw th number two each time. This helped them win on most wagers at craps tables.

This movie has actor Matt Dillon playing a craps shooter from a small town with a knack for winning so he moves to Las Vegas to try his luck. At the Gem Club owned by George Cole he manages to defeat the owner and starts of an interesting chain of events.
